| The International Vaccine Institute is an independent
international organization established under the Vienna
Convention of 1969. It is governed by a Board of Trustees
the majority of whom are elected based on their personal
achievements and position in the vaccine field. The Institute
is non-profit and is concerned with research and development
of new and improved vaccines for use primarily in developing
countries. The Institute also provides technical assistance
and training for vaccine production and regulatory control.
The Institute's headquarters are in Seoul, Korea. The
headquarters building will include a pilot plant that
will be used for production of human vaccines to be used
in clinical trials or for other research purposes. |

General Description:
The Staff will be engaged in activities under the Policy and Economic Unit, under the Director General's Office. Director, Policy and Economic (PE) Unit will be the immediate supervisor for the Staff. The PE Unit has a mandate to develop policy-based research, and to assist in policy formulation on vaccine development, promotion and financing, among the international community, governments, and other stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies and non-government agencies in the IVI member countries. The PE Unit works closely with the Operations Units of the Translational Research Division (TRD) and the Pediatric Dengue Vaccine Initiative (PDVI) program, on their needs, such as developing proposals for conducting policy-based research, assisting in conducting these research and its analyses. Some areas of research include innovative financing strategies, provider payment systems and pricing strategies, willingness to pay studies, and cost of interventions or control of illness. Further, the PE is also engaged in the development of instruments and tools for preparing investment cases/feasibilities and monitoring, including using various economic tools, such as cost-effectiveness analyses, economic impact studies, and other areas as need arises.
Specific Task:
The Staff will use various economic tools to conduct economic analyses, such as, cost-effectiveness, cost-benefit, economic impact, and others. The Staff is expected to design and conduct cost-effectiveness analyses for various interventions to control and prevent the spread of diseases, such as Cholera, Typhoid, Tuberculosis, and Dengue, among others. These interventions include routine vaccination programs, school-based programs, community-based campaigns, and other non-vaccine related interventions. The data will be collected from IVI designated field sites. The Staff will be responsible to conduct the studies, analyze its results, and to write-up the results of the studies. Additionally, the Staff is expected to be engaged with researchers from IVI and from the country counterparts in writing proposals, designing and conducting studies that consider demand analysis, pricing strategies, and other areas of health systems and budgetary and policy implications related to new vaccine introduction. The Staff will also be engaged in conducting literature reviews and writing up summaries, developing economic models and simulating its results to assess the situation in various scenarios to estimate net-present value (NPV) and internal rate of return (IRR). The Staff is encouraged to publish the articles in reputable journals.
Required Qualifications
The Candidate should be (i) a Ph.D. or (ii) a Master's degree with at least 5-years experience, and should be from a relevant area of interest, such as in the field of health economics, econometrics, health financing, or vaccine economics. The Candidate is expected to have strong analytical and quantitative skills, and should be fluent in verbal and written communication in English. The Candidate is expected to work in teams. The Candidate should have worked on development issues, and worked in Asia and/or Africa and/or Latin America. The Candidate should be willing and able to travel.

General Description:
Security Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate security system and security policies and procedures of the Institute to ensure ongoing maintenance of the security. The Manager will also ensure that the Institute is properly prepared for the possibility of emergency and disaster.
Specific Responsibilities:
1.Establish and maintain security policies and procedures
- Develop and implement security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures
- Ensure compliance with security related policies and procedures
2.Establish and implement the proper security system
- Understand and assess the threats, vulnerabilities and security risk of the Institute
- Develop and implement appropriate security system and program that will ensure the security of the Institute
- Oversee the operation of the Institute security system including CCTV cameras and improve the system
- Report on the security status regularly
- Oversee the security guards
3.Develop and implement security training and advocacy
-Develop a security awareness and training programs
-Lead security training and awareness programs to educate IVI staff members
4.Incident and emergency control
- Establish, implement and lead an incident response, investigation and resolution of the security incidents and prevent future security breaches
- Develop crisis management procedures, conduct emergency procedures including evacuations and coordinate efforts to restore critical systems
5.Protect people and asset of the Institute
- Secure people including visitors, buildings, equipments and other asset of the Institute
- Ensure the periodic patrols ? internal and external
- Search vehicles as they enter and leave premises
- Check people who leave and enter the premises
6.Work with the law enforcement agencies as appropriate
- Inform the police of the security incidents to get the quickest assistance of the police
- Work with the police to resolve security incidents
7.Undertake any other duties as commensurate with the position
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Experience : Minimum 5years experience
